Compusearch Successfully Launches the US Postal Service’s Contract Authoring & Management System (CAMS) Dulles, VA – (March 21, 2005) – Compusearch Software Systems is pleased to announce the successful rollout of the Contract Authoring and Management System (CAMS) at the U.S. Postal Service® (USPS). Over the past year, Compusearch worked closely with a Postal Service Project Team, comprised of members from Information Technology and Supply Management, to implement, configure and customize the PRISM COTS application in order to maximize the value to USPS supply chain management. The system was rolled out on February 1, 2005. The Compusearch Project Team consisted of Compusearch, IBM, and BearingPoint. Compusearch assisted in integrating the CAMS system into the Postal Service IT infrastructure, training 350 users, and is continuing to provide product and help desk support. The flexibility of PRISM and the quality of Compusearch’s technical support made the rollout one of the smoothest business application implementations ever achieved at the Postal Service. The CAMS system streamlines the overall acquisition process for the Postal Service. All Requisitions that are developed in the Postal Service’s e-Procurement system are automatically transmitted to CAMS for processing. "Previously, requisitions entered in our system had to be manually rekeyed into the legacy contract writing system. The ability to automatically route requisitions is a big step forward in automating order-to-pay processes." said Craig Partridge, Manager, Supply Chain Management Strategies, USPS. About USPS Since 1775, the Postal Service has connected friends, families, neighbors and businesses by mail. It is an independent federal agency that visits 142 million homes and businesses every day and is the only service provider delivering to every address in the nation. The Postal Service derives its operating revenues solely from the sale of postage, products and services. With annual revenues of more than $69 billion, it is the world’s leading provider of mailing and delivery services, offering some of the most affordable postage rates in the world. The Postal Service delivers more than 46 percent of the world’s mail volume—some 206 billion letters, advertisements, periodicals and packages a year—and serves seven million customers each day at its 37,000 retail locations nationwide. About PRISM PRISM is a comprehensive e-procurement solution that offers full procurement life-cycle support from advanced acquisition planning through closeout within a single web-based application.
