Rapid Deployment was Key to
Department of Homeland Security’s Selection of PRISM

Dulles, VA – (December 1, 2003) Just one month after the October 2003 award, the Department of Homeland Security, DHS, will begin utilizing Compusearch’s PRISM for all phases of procurement management. PRISM is a COTS, e-procurement solution that offers all the capability required by DHS without expensive customization or lengthy implementation time. Compusearch’s more than 20 years of Federal government procurement and installation experience guaranteed DHS a quick transition and rapid deployment.

DHS was impressed by PRISM’s ability to support four different divisions, each with unique requirements, without customization. PRISM’s streamlined workflow management and electronic routing capability provided DHS with the speed required to handle emergency type acquisitions – essential in today’s political environment.

Organizations within DHS who will begin using PRISM include all headquarter organizations, the Science and Technology Directorate, Information Analysis & Infrastructure Protection Directorate, and Office for Domestic Preparedness. Other DHS organizations like the US Coast Guard are already using PRISM.

Compusearch will host the DHS e-procurement site and will be responsible for all hardware and software maintenance. DHS users will access the system via the Web. In addition, Compusearch will provide all implementation support and services including training.

About PRISM
PRISM is a comprehensive e-procurement solution that offers full procurement life-cycle support from advanced acquisition planning through closeout within a single web-based application. Its comprehensive contract management capability has consistently set it apart from competitors and supports twenty-one award types prescribed by the FAR and DFARS including Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contracts and multi-vendor awards. A COTS solution that is easily customized, PRISM reduces the lead-time to implementation and smoothes the transition from previous systems. Its architecture and design allow it to be easily integrated with financial systems for functions such as funds certification and the facilitation of the obligation and de-obligation processes. PRISM is JFMIP interface compliant. Interface capabilities also include the CCR and FPDS NG. PRISM fully supports the government’s accessibility initiative and has been certified Section 508 compliant.
