25,000 Businesses Now Use FedConnect® to Compete and Apply for Federal Contracts and Grants

03.08.2010

Dulles, VA, March 8, 2010 - Compusearch announced today that the number of businesses and organizations using FedConnect® to identify, compete/apply for, and receive federal contracts and grants has grown to 25,000.

FedConnect® (www.fedconnect.net) is a publically accessible web portal where agencies throughout the federal government post opportunities for contracts and grants. Designed to complement and extend the capabilities of both FedBizOpps and Grants.gov, FedConnect is centrally-hosted and operated by Compusearch and is offered to federal agencies on a subscription basis as a cloud computing service. There is no cost to vendors or grant applicants to use FedConnect.

"Having 25,000 businesses and organizations incorporate FedConnect® into their growth pursuit strategies demonstrates the power of using a hosted, cloud computing environment successfully bringing transparency and accountability into the bidding and grant application process", said Reid Jackson, President, Compusearch Software Systems, Inc. "More than 500 new entities register every week, which is a tremendous rate of adoption increasing the network value to Federal Agencies."

Federal agencies benefit from FedConnect's secure, auditable, bi-directional communication capabilities and use it to communicate with businesses and organizations throughout the acquisition and grants life-cycles. Businesses and organizations submit proposals and applications electronically, directly through FedConnect, and when the award decisions are made, agencies deliver those awards and manage the post-award activity through FedConnect.

The rapid rise in the number of businesses and organizations using FedConnect directly corresponds to the growth in postings by subscribing agencies. FedConnect is now used by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). New agency subscribers include the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA), the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), all of whom project being on-stream with FedConnect by April 2010.

FedConnect facilitates secure, bi-directional, auditable collaboration between government and the communities of vendors and grantees, throughout the entire lifecycle of each opportunity, i.e. pre-award, award, post-award management, and finally close-out. For acquisition and grants organizations the use of FedConnect makes the paperless office a reality, as responses to RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, BAAs and NOFAs, etc. are submitted electronically, promoting accelerated evaluation and awards. By visiting one portal each interested party can search active opportunities across all of the participating agencies. Through FedConnect vendors and grant applicants are able to acknowledge interest, ask questions and receive answers, view modifications and amendments, submit proposals and applications, and receive award notices.
