Compusearch’s PRISM-Grants Recognized as a Cost-effective Alternative to Other GMLoB Consortia Solutions

09.28.2008

Dulles, VA, September 22, 2008 – In a presentation to the Federal Demonstration Partnership on May 14, 2008, a representative with the National Science Foundation (NSF) unveiled an update to the Grants Management Line of Business (GMLoB) landscape. The concept of an Alternative Solutions Group was introduced, representing alternatives to aligning with one of the three designated grants management service providers. Within this Alternative Solutions Group is a COTS (Commercial-Off-The-Shelf) Sub-Group. The three agencies listed in the Alternative Solutions Group, COTS Sub-Group – the Department of Energy (DOE), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Small Business Administration (SBA) – have each received OMB’s permission to use the PRISM-Grants software application from Compusearch to support the administration of their respective financial assistance programs. Compusearch’s PRISM-Grants solution has been recognized as a viable alternative to aligning with one of the three GMLoB consortium leads.

“That PRISM-Grants is recognized as a cost-effective alternative to consortia solutions is extremely gratifying,” said Reid Jackson, President, Compusearch Software Systems, Inc. “PRISM-Grants users get the benefit of using a proven COTS solution that allows them to leverage parts of the GMLoB solutions that complement their agencies efforts.”

In addition to the agencies listed in the Alternative Solutions Group, several Compusearch clients are implementing PRISM-Grants to manage their organizations’ grants business and processes while leveraging components of the GMLoB consortia solutions. In this way, National Science Foundation’s consortia solution, Research.gov, which provides a value-added grantee portal, can complement an agency’s existing investment in PRISM-Grants, allowing agencies to reap the combined benefits of COTS with the best of the consortia-based functionality.
