NASA SEWP Now Integrated with Compusearch’s PRISM-Speeds Processing of the Government’s SEWP Orders

11.04.2009

Compusearch Software Systems, Inc. announced today the integration of their PRISM acquisition management solution with the NASA SEWP management system. This integration will streamline the SEWP ordering process for all Government Agencies using PRISM.

The interface is included in the new PRISM version 6.5 release and is being made available as a free enhancement to all agencies using PRISM.  By accelerating and automating order processing, NASA SEWP continues to enhance their customer service and overall efficiency.

The PRISM/SEWP interface will format orders and electronically submit them directly into the SEWP management system.  Currently, when an order is sent to SEWP, the data is manually keyed into the SEWP management system.  By interfacing with PRISM, SEWP will reduce processing time and errors.  Nearly two-thirds of all Civilian Agency Contracting Officers use PRISM, including all within NASA.

"Compusearch is pleased to have collaborated so successfully with the NASA SEWP Program Office in the development of the first ever interface between an acquisition management system and a GWAC Portal" said Reid Jackson, President of Compusearch. "We're excited about the potential for government-wide efficiencies that can be realized in the acquisition of IT systems and solutions."

NASA SEWP views the interface as important to increasing processing capacity while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.  According to Joanne Woytek, SEWP Program Manager, "We are now down to hours, but we want to get to minutes.  We are going to reduce the resources that we need to process orders so that we can focus on interactive customer service."  Compusearch will help make this possible.

The SEWP vision is "to be the premier customer-focused contract vehicle for Federal Government purchases of IT products," and customer service is a top priority for the SEWP team.  The ever-expanding SEWP usage throughout the Government has placed more and more demands on the team that processes the orders.  That coupled with the fact that SEWP has customers placing orders from around the world means that the SEWP shop functions around the clock.

SEWP, recently named #1 in the "Federal IT King of the Contracts" by MeriTalk survey, is a NASA GWAC that enables all Agencies Government-wide to quickly acquire IT product solutions and has served the federal market for more than 17 years. Last year, 60 Federal Agencies spent $1.8 billion acquiring IT product solutions through SEWP.

About PRISM
Compusearch's PRISM-Procurement, an integral part of the PRISM Suite, is built specifically for US federal government agencies, and is the most widely adopted federal acquisition management system with more than 33,000 authorized users in more than 80 organizations across the civilian, intelligence, and defense sectors.  The PRISM Suite is the most comprehensive COTS solution available and offers full procurement and grants management life-cycle support from advance planning/funding through closeout within a single web-based application.  The PRISM Suite reduces the lead-time to implementation and smoothes the transition from previous systems.  Its architecture and design allow it to be easily integrated with financial systems for functions such as funds certification and the facilitation of the obligation and de-obligation processes.  The PRISM Suite integrates with all major Financial Systems Integration Office (FSIO) certified financial systems and fully supports the government's Section 508 accessibility initiative.  For more information, visit www.compusearch.com/products
