The U.S. Department of the Interior Selects Compusearch’s PRISM-Grants Solution for End-to-End Administration of Financial Assistance Programs

09.28.2009

Dulles, VA, September 28, 2009 - Compusearch Software Systems, Inc. announced today that the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) has licensed PRISM-Grants, the leading automated solution supporting the grant-making activities of agencies of the Federal Government.  At the conclusion of a comprehensive analysis of all of the available options, one of which was to fully commit to a Grants Management Line of Business (GMLoB) consortia lead, DOI selected Compusearch's PRISM-Grants as the enterprise-wide solution to streamline DOI's grant-making processes through the pre-award, award and post-award phases of financial assistance program management.  The implementation of PRISM-Grants will enhance reporting and facilitate transparency while improving support for all DOI program offices to perform their missions quickly and accurately.  In order to deliver complete end-to-end grants lifecycle management automation the implementation of PRISM-Grants' will encompass an interface to DOI's financial management system.

The U.S. Department of the Interior joins the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Small Business Administration (SBA) within the COTS (Commercial-Off-The-Shelf) Sub-Group of the GMLoB's Alternative Solutions Group.

The commonality these agencies share is OMB's authorization to use PRISM-Grants to support the administration of their respective financial assistance programs.  PRISM-Grants and Compusearch are unique in this level of recognition.  DOI had previously entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the U.S. Department of Education to further explore using ED's grants servicing center.

"That PRISM-Grants continues to be recognized as a cost-effective alternative to consortia solutions
is extremely gratifying," said Reid Jackson, President, Compusearch Software Systems, Inc.
"Now that the case for adopting PRISM, a cost-effective, proven COTS solution, as a viable alternative to a GMLoB consortia provider has been proven for the fourth time, we expect other grant-making agencies to consider Compusearch's PRISM-Grants and to make pragmatic decisions about achieving visibility, control, and transparency in their grant-making processes."
